President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians, particularly residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to take full ownership and maximise the benefits of the infrastructure being delivered by his administration, emphasising that roads and development projects must translate into real improvements in people’s lives.
Speaking during the commissioning of the newly constructed 15-kilometre A2 to Pia Town Road, President Tinubu highlighted the critical role of infrastructure in transforming communities, stimulating the economy, and bridging development gaps, especially in underserved rural areas.
“Road and infrastructure development are meaningless if we don’t develop them for the benefit of our people,” the President said. The President stressed that Nigerians must take full advantage of the infrastructure projects being executed across Abuja and beyond, just as he called on communities to protect, maintain, and use them to improve livelihoods.
The President underscored the strategic significance of the A2–Pia Town Road, noting that it would not only improve connectivity but would also open new corridors for agriculture, enterprise, and education in the region.
He also used the opportunity to reiterate his administration’s commitment to addressing long-standing issues in agriculture and livestock management, pledging support for ranches and modern grazing practices to turn conflict zones into centres of productivity.
He called on landowners, farmers and investors to recognise the value added to the area and seize new opportunities for development and enterprise.
MEANWHILE, the ongoing strike by primary school teachers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which has shut down public primary education for over three months, took a dramatic turn on Monday as social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), led a peaceful protest with schoolchildren to the office of the FCT Minister.
The protest, held at the gates of the FCT Minister’s office in Abuja, featured dozens of uniformed pupils holding placards and participating in an improvised open-air class conducted by VDM himself.
The children, many of whom have been out of school since the strike began on March 24, 2025, joined the protest to call for urgent government intervention.
