Ohanaeze rallies Otti for Tinubu’s reelection ahead of visit to Abia

President Bola Tinubu will visit Abia State on May 23 to, among other things, commission the 6.5 kilometre Port Harcourt Road in Aba, which was rebuilt by the administration of Governor Alex Otti after more than 15 years in dilapidation.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this to journalists while inspecting the damage done at the Osisioma axis of the 56-kilometre Abia Tower of Peace, Umuahia, to Rail Flyover, Aba section of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, a different Federal Government project. Umahi expressed joy that work on the Port Harcourt Road had now been completed by the Abia State government, waiting for commissioning by the President.  The minister commended Otti for not only completing the road but also for the quality job done.

MEANWHILE, a faction of the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, yesterday, urged Governor Alex Otti to emulate the footsteps of Governor Charles Soludo by adopting Tinubu for reelection in 2027.

In a statement issued in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, the Deputy National President of the Ohanaeze faction, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, noted that the adoption of the President by Otti is very crucial, especially now that the South-East is benefiting immensely.

He commended the governor for the completion of the Port Harcourt Road project, which had suffered neglect for over 15 years, stressing that this achievement represents not only a victory for the governance of Abia State but also serves as a pivotal opportunity for the governor to embrace Tinubu’s national vision and policies.

He urged Otti to draw inspiration from Soludo during the President’s visit to Anambra by boldly affirming that his administration has officially adopted Tinubu as their sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

The statement reads: “As President Bola Tinubu’s official visit to Abia State on May 23, 2025, it will be a momentous occasion set to be marked by the commissioning of the long-awaited Port Harcourt Road Aba project, a critical infrastructure undertaking successfully developed by the able leadership of Otti.

“In light of Otti’s commendable accomplishment in completing the road project, which had suffered neglect for over 15 years, Ohanaeze extends heartfelt congratulations.

“This achievement represents not only a victory for the governance of Abia but also serves as a pivotal opportunity for the governor to embrace Tinubu’s national vision and policies.”
