Thugs kill industrialist in Gombe rampage

Suspected ‘Yan Kalare’ thugs allegedly killed a 45-year-old entrepreneur, Amadi Kasiran, on Sunday night in Hammadu Kafi community, Gombe metropolis, Gombe State.

Amadi was the owner of a welding firm known as Amadi Kasiran Fabrications, which employed many residents.

According to locals, the thugs have recently gone on rampages across parts of the state, attacking innocent residents.

Mukhtar Muhammad Rabiu, a resident, posted on Facebook that the Kalare thugs stormed his community and stabbed several people, including a patient who had just undergone skull surgery and had to be rushed back to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Former governor of Gombe State and current senator representing Gombe North, Ibrahim Dankwambo, expressed shock over the murder, describing Amadi as an industrious citizen. He urged the state government and security agencies to “wake up” and end thuggery in the state.

“It is imperative for the state government and security agencies to end these heinous acts that cause injury and death, bringing unforgettable pain to families and leaving children orphaned,” he lamented.

The Gombe State Police Command, via Police Public Relations Officer Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the incident in a statement.

“An intelligence-based investigation has been immediately launched, and all efforts are being intensified to identify, trace, and apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime so they can be brought to justice,” the police statement read.

State Governor Inuwa Yahaya, through his spokesperson Isma’ila Uba Misilli, also condemned the killing, describing it as senseless and completely unacceptable. He vowed that the government would not tolerate a resurgence of thuggery and gang violence in Gombe.
