The Edo State Islamic Council on Saturday praised Governor Monday Okpebholo for his generous donations of rams, bags of rice, and cows to Muslims in the state to mark the celebration of Eid El Kabir.
Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Abdulazeez Igbinidu, expressed gratitude in a statement from Benin City, noting that the gifts enabled many Muslims to celebrate the festival without hardship amid prevailing economic challenges.
Alhaji Igbinidu said the League of Imams, Muslim organizations, youth and women’s groups, as well as the Arewa community, appreciated the governor’s kind gesture and prayed that Allah rewards him abundantly.
“The quality of the items and their timely, transparent distribution marked a significant improvement over previous efforts,” he said.
“We are humbled and deeply grateful to His Excellency for the support extended to us. On behalf of the Edo Muslim community, we pledge to continue supporting and collaborating with your administration in the quest to return the state to rapid, integrated development,” the chairman added.
The Council noted that their appreciation was inspired by the Almighty Allah’s command to recognize those who assist Muslims in their life journeys.
Alhaji Igbinidu assured that Muslim leaders are committed to a fair distribution of the gifts across mosques in the state.
He prayed for peace, unity, and prosperity in Edo State under Governor Okpebholo’s leadership, and asked Allah SWT to grant the governor and his team wisdom and strength to govern effectively for the glory of Allah and the service of humanity.
