Book launch on leadership in Nigerian civil service holds tomorrow

The highly anticipated book, “Leadership in the Nigerian Civil Service,” authored by a retired Permanent Secretary and pioneer Director-General of the Bureau for Public Service Reforms, Dr Goke Adegoroye, has been scheduled to be launched tomorrow, June 4, 2025, at the Rotunda Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.

The event, which will be attended by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima as Chief Guest of Honour, along with other key figures in the country’s public service, is under the Chairmanship of former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Oba Olu Falae.

This new publication chronicles Adegoroye’s experiential knowledge, encounters, challenges, and triumphs in the public service, offering valuable insights and reflections on leadership in Nigeria’s civil service over the past five decades.

As a renowned expert in public administration and governance, Adegoroye has authored several authoritative books on good governance and leadership in Nigeria’s public service.

The book launch promises to be a significant forum for public administration practitioners, public servants, and scholars to engage with the complexities of leadership in Nigeria’s civil service.

Its release has been strategically timed for the mid-term of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to offer useful tips on how to strengthen governance effectiveness.

The event will also feature a keynote address by former President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina, who is the Special Guest of Honour, while the Book Reviewer is Prof. Victor Ayeni, a renowned international Public Administration expert.
