Former National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Professor Jubril Aminu, a scholar, diplomat, and founding member of the party.
In a statement on Thursday, Chief George described Professor Aminu as a selfless Nigerian politician, a man of great intellect and integrity, whose service to humanity and Nigeria inspired generations.
He noted Professor Aminu’s visionary leadership as Minister of Education and Petroleum Resources, which helped shape critical sectors of the country.
Chief George also recalled Professor Aminu’s personal kindness and solidarity, particularly during his own trial and incarceration, when Professor Aminu visited him several times to demonstrate his support.
He said: “His legacy will continue to impact on the countless lives he touched and the institutions he helped build. Nigeria has lost a rare gentleman and one of her finest.
“He was a true elder statesman and very personal to me. His legacy will continue to impact on the countless lives he touched and the institutions he helped build. Nigeria has lost a rare gentleman and one of her finest.”
