CertBridge, AI CERTs launch AI training partnership across West Africa

AI CERTs, a global certification body in artificial intelligence and blockchain, has entered into a partnership with CertBridge Limited, a Nigerian AI consultancy, to expand access to digital skills training across West Africa.

The initiative will offer professional certification programmes focused on AI, blockchain, and digital transformation to individuals, businesses, and public sector institutions.

The training will be delivered through a mix of virtual platforms and physical hubs, starting with centres in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. Additional locations in Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and other ECOWAS countries are expected to follow.

The certifications will cater to a wide range of professionals, including civil servants, corporate executives, digital entrepreneurs, educators, and students.

Speaking on the partnership, Dr. Nnaemeka Richard Dureke, Founder and Managing Director of CertBridge, said the project is part of a broader effort to build regional capacity in emerging technologies.

“This is more than a partnership; it is a continental call to action. We are building the intellectual infrastructure needed to power Africa’s AI renaissance,” he said. “With AI CERTs, we are bringing world-class standards home and making them accessible, contextual, and impactful.”

AI CERTs will provide the global curriculum, faculty, and digital platforms, while CertBridge will localise the programme for the West African context. This includes adapting content to regional needs, incorporating local case studies, and offering instruction in multiple languages to improve accessibility.

The programme comes at a time when governments and organisations across Africa are exploring the use of artificial intelligence to drive service delivery, productivity, and innovation. The organisers say the certifications are designed to align with the digital transformation agendas of both public and private sector actors.

AI CERTs, which have set a long-term goal of certifying one billion people worldwide, will support the infrastructure and academic content, while CertBridge manages the implementation and regional coordination.

The partnership aims to support digital policy implementation and workforce development across the region.
